We've seen it time and time again - those that become test drivers or take a seat in a lower series are not as sharp as they were before they made that choice.

The thing is though, no one seemed to tell Casey Stoner that; as the Ducati test rider only went and set the early pace at the pre-season MotoGP testing at Sepang.

In a test with 26 other riders, the double World Champion still ended up more than a tenth quicker than anyone else.
