I always wanted to write a superhero story - but in a more subtle way. I wanted children to read the story and realise that they already have amazing untapped talents that they may not have discovered yet. There’s no need for radioactive spider bites or special serums. The abilities are already there, they just need discovering.
Squid and other cephalopods are amazing creatures with natural abilities unlike anything else on earth. They are the perfect creatures to portray this journey of discovery. So, one could read Giggle Squid like a superhero origin story - but it's all about realising that we are all already unique, with abilities that others don't have. We just might not know what they are yet.

The Adventures of Giggle Squid follows the story of Giggle's epic journey across the ocean to save little brother Ike from the grasps of a pirate sushi chef and his crew.
The Captain lost everything in a battle with the Kraken and has dedicated his life to hunting it down. However, not content with one squid - he wants to take his revenge on all squid kind, becoming a rather talented sushi chef to feed his crew.
With the help of some new friends, can Giggle get to Ike in time to save him?
